Trevor Barron and Miranda Melville led Team USA as competition in the 25th edition of the World Race Walking Cup concluded Sunday in Saransk, Russia. Competition began Saturday with the junior men’s and women’s 10 km races and the men’s 20 km race and finished Sunday with the women’s 20 km race and men’s 50 km race

The IAAF Race Walking Challenge descends on Taicing (CHN) tomorrow and a record 13 Australians are set to take to the start line.

Athletics Australia has today announced a 16-strong team for the IAAF World Race Walking Cup to be held in Saransk (RUS) on May 12-13, 2012.

Peterborough, Ont.'s Rachel Seaman bettered the Canadian record she had previously set on Saturday in the women's 20km race walk. In Naumburg, Germany she clocked in at 1:33:33 finishing third and surpassing her previous best of 1:33:43 established earlier this season.

La Coruna (ESP) played host to the final of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge across the weekend, as Luke Adams, Jared Tallent, Dane Bird-Smith and Claire Tallent flew the Australian flag in the men’s and women’s 10km event respectively.

Germany, Great Britain and Italy will all have potential medallists among their squads at the European Cup Race Walking in the Algarve town of Olhão in Portugal on 21 May.
