INDIANAPOLIS - Heather Kampf (Minneapolis, Minn.) and Craig Miller (Madison, Wisc.) will challenge for the USA 1 Mile Road Championship title Thursday in Minneapolis. The event is part of the USA Running Circuit and is hosted by the Medtronic TC 1 Mile for the fourth time.

NEW YORK - (May 12, 2012) - At the start of the UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on Saturday morning, the buzz was all about the 2012 U.S. Men's Olympic Marathon team of Meb Keflezighi, Ryan Hall and Abdi Abdirahman, who would be competing in the same race for the first and probably only time between January's U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston and the London Games this August. But at the finish, it was an Italian champion, an Iona College standout from Kenya and a U.S. Olympic hopeful who stole the spotlight and the podium.

LOS ANGELES - This Sunday, May 20, more than 4,000 runners are expected to gather in Santa Monica for the 7th Santa Monica Classic. The event, which includes both 5K & 10K races, will continue the tradition of raising awareness for the environmental non-profit Heal the Bay.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - (May 9, 2012) - With more than 7 million female U.S. road race finishers in 2011, a record high according to Running USA, it's difficult to imagine that just 40 years ago running was not widely considered an appropriate sport for women. The longest distance women were allowed to run in the 1960 Rome Olympics was just 800 meters, and later, until the marathon and 3000 meters were added at the 1984 Los Angeles Games, the 1500 meters.

After gaining the full approval for a new, improved route for this year’s Oxford Half Marathon, the organisers celebrated with a gathering at Iffley Road Track last week, unveiling the new route and officially launching the race with over 1,200 runners registered already.

DENVER - While serving his third tour of duty in Iraq, a severe blast left Joel Hunt unable to walk and suffering from the effects of a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Forced to use a wheelchair, the Army veteran experienced loss of muscle function, debilitating headaches, dizziness, vision problems and short-term memory loss. His future looked bleak until he found help through the unique nonprofit program, Operation TBI Freedom (OTF).
