Cyrus Njui, a marathon debutante, and Yumiko Hara, running her first marathon since January of 2009, respectively won the men’s and women’s division of today’s Hokkaido marathon in Sapporo, Japan (29).

Singapore - The fifth day of the Singapore Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was highlighted by a World Youth Best in the boy's shot put by Poland's Krzysztof Brzozowski. This was one of 12 medal events on the programme that also included the Long Jump, 1000m, Javelin Throw, 10,000m Race Walk, 3000m and 200m for boys while the girls contested the 200m, Shot Put, High Jump, 3000m and Javelin Throw.
