The International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) has organised a multilateral world congress, due to take place in Copenhagen on 22 - 25 October, 2009.

“The idea of “Move2009” is to offer an event that brings together association leaders, city planners, city project leaders and policy makers. Our aim is more bi-lateral cooperation between municipalities and sport organisations on issues such as physical activity promotion and active citizenship. Cities want good interventions in many social areas and sport associations are proving to be a valuable partner”, says Marvin Radford, member of the executive office of ISCA and adds, “Several major cities would like to profile themselves, some as 'sport for all' city in a very broad context, such as Sao Paolo, Brazil, others as ‘elite sport’ city; Rio de Janeiro is currently aiming for a status as 'mega sports event' city.

In Copenhagen politicians discussed how to profile it. At the end, it was decided on both the 'Elite' and 'sport for all' profile. Consequently they support the IOC Congress, 3 – 5 October 2009, as well as the MOVE2009 Conference of ISCA.

Founding members were Deutscher Turner-Bund, the Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association, Social Service of Commerce-Saô Paulo, Brazil, and Union Sportive de l'Enseignement du Premier Degree, France.
