We are glad to inform you that the official photographic album for the 28th Athens Classic Marathon 2010 is available through the www.themarathonroute.com e-shop.

It is a remarkable photographic volume with 656 pages as a tribute to the anniversary 28th Classic Marathon in 2010 published under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Secretariat of Sports, the City of Athens and the Hellenic Athletics Association.

A collector's edition about the 2500 years of the Authentic Marathon course, edited by Stefanos Samios and published by Grey Images in co-operation with the Hellenic Athletics Association. A remarkable, hard - cover and bilingual photographic volume with 656 pages as a tribute to the Celebratory 28th Classic Marathon of 2010 and the passing of 2500 years since the battle of Marathon. This volume has proved to be our own photographic and design marathon due to the complexity of organizing the shooting of the Classic Marathon route. Extensive editing and image processing of thousands of pictures was required in order to cover all aspects of the course.

This edition aims to introduce the original marathon route through a depiction of the course, plethora of historical information and a moving series of images which showcase the human effort required to participate in such a race. It is the first time, internationally, that a book like this is published, giving us the chance to have a completely new perspective on the Athens Classic Marathon race.

Our goal is to connect the broadest possible spectrum of people with the ideals of the Marathon race and to honor all runners, Greek and foreign, who participated in this strenuous event. Furthermore, we would like to promote the history of our country and the universal values which derive from it.
